Cookie Policy
PCdle uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries. Most are needed for the game to work at all. One use — linking your plays together in our own analytics — is optional and only happens if you accept it.
We do not use advertising cookies, social-media pixels or third-party analytics. Fonts are served from our own domain, so loading the page does not contact Google or any other font service.

What we store
| Name | Purpose | Type | Category | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pcdle:<category>:<mode>:<date>, streak and Bytle keys | Today’s puzzle progress, streaks and statistics | Local storage | Necessary | Until you clear site data |
Theme, colour-blind and dismissed-banner keys | Remembering settings you chose | Local / session storage | Necessary | Until you clear site data, or the tab closes |
pcdle:consent | Remembering your answer to the cookie banner | Local storage | Necessary | Until you clear site data or change your choice |
pcdle:session | A random identifier for this tab. Always used so one solve is not counted twice; used for analytics only if you accept | Session storage | Necessary · Analytics (with consent) | Until the tab closes |
pcdle_guest | A random, signed guest ID so your streaks are kept if you play without signing in. Also held for the tab in session storage during an Overclocked run | Cookie · Session storage | Necessary | 400 days, or until you sign in |
pcdle:embed | Remembers that this page is PCdle embedded on a publisher’s site, which publisher, and whether it is that publisher’s own game page | Session storage | Necessary (embedded games only) | Until the tab closes |
pcdle:embed-auth | Keeps you signed in to PCdle inside that publisher’s embed. It is separate from your sign-in on our own site. If your browser blocks storage inside the embed, it is held in memory and lost when the page closes | Local storage, inside the publisher’s site only | Necessary (only if you sign in) | Until you sign out or the session expires |
pcdle:embed-guest | Your guest ID inside that embed, used in place of the guest cookie your browser blocks there, so your plays are scored and your streak kept | Local storage, inside the publisher’s site only | Necessary | Until you clear site data (it does not expire on its own) |
sb-* (Supabase) | Keeping you signed in | Cookie | Necessary (only if you sign in) | Until you sign out or the session expires |
Analytics without consent
If you reject analytics, or have not answered yet, we still count that a puzzle was started, guessed or shared, so we know how many games are played. Those counts are recorded as “anonymous”: nothing is read from your device to make them, and they cannot be linked to you or to each other.
Embedded games
When PCdle is embedded in a publisher’s article, the banner is not shown and analytics stay anonymous. The publisher’s own cookie policy covers the page around the game.
Managing storage in your browser
You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking necessary storage will stop your progress and streaks being saved. For more about personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
